Stronglite Folding Massage Table

Submitted By: jessicaschafferreset@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I have an original Stronglite folding massage table for sale. Table is in great shape save for some minor snags (less than 1/4″) in the vinyl. This table has extra padding and extra width for a very comfortable feel. Comes with travel bag, bolster, adjustable face cradle holder, and two face cushions (the original and one that has extra padding to protect sinuses). These tables retail for $450+. I am asking $195 for everything. Email or text 503-348-6288 if interested.

looking for a small, cozy place to rent

Submitted By: croweanne70@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello, everyone!
I’m looking for a small, cozy place to rent in or near Seaside, starting early May.

I have two sweet, well-behaved senior dogs, so pet-friendly is needed.
Just looking for something simple and comfortable, — a studio, 1-bedroom, or small cottage would be perfect.
If you know of anything available or have any leads, feel free to message me.

I work locally, am looking forward to settling in, getting involved with my new community, doing volunteer work and making Seaside home.

Thanks so much!

~Jody

Civic Saturday Sermon

Join us Saturday, April 12 at 10 am for Tillamook County’s version of “Civic Saturdays” with Jim Heffernan hosting. The sermons explore new and better ways to be a citizen. They are aimed at developing “citizenship muscle. We will need “muscle” to bring power back to “We the People”, where it belongs. Each sermon functions as a stand-alone sermon. Don’t worry about missing earlier sessions.
This week’s sermon , number 12 of 19, is “The Citizen Artist” and is 31 minutes long. It will explore six ways the citizen can use artistic expression to develop a stronger civic union. We can talk about the sermon afterwards, or not.

Blenko – hand blown pitcher/art glass

Submitted By: Artwithmisskaren@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hand blown, limited edition art glass pitcher by Blenko. $65
This emerald & brown beauty was bought in early 2000’s at a Blenko exhibition OPB in PDX after glass maker was featured in a program. I purchased 3 pieces at the show and remember it was just under $1,000.
It’s a heavy duty, one of a kind piece as no blown art glass can ever be duplicated perfectly in model or color. I downsized and thought I’d use this in my new little house. It’s been unpacked for a year only gets dusted. Truth is, I’ve had 6 surgery’s on my left hand and wrist with diminished function. my hand isn’t working well enuf to bear the weight and control pour.
It’s still got original identification sticker and signed on the bottom. I couldn’t find anything exactly like it on the Internet but found some close in size and style.
I thought I’d try here locally before hitting Craig’s list for the sale. Offering at 65$ to a local person who understands and would enjoy this functional piece of glass art in their home for daily use or special entertainment. Even as a flower vase really.

Manzanita supports quality of life infrastructure

Submitted By: dwieb1@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I believe Manzanita is on track to making improvements that will promote quality of life here. Change is never easy to deeply ingrained expectations, but the (industry-promoted) supremacy of car travel to the detriment of all other forms of mobility has resulted in many negative impacts. Though determining to break our habits is understandably difficult, I think Manzanita’s new 20mph limit is one step in the right direction. More to come I hope, and just the beautiful environment should help make it easier to accomplish.

Join Us on Earth Day for Our April Community Meeting!

Submitted By: rockawaycitizen.water@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Join us on Earth Day for our April Community Meeting where two important topics will be discussed:

1.NEDONNA BEACH-PROTECTING WETLANDS AND DRINKING WATER IN NEDONNA BEACH
Neighbors and community members are actively working to protect the remaining freshwater, forested, and shrub wetlands in the Nedonna Beach neighborhood. The City of Rockaway Beach recently approved a new 28-house development in an area of Nedonna Beach that is designated as “wetlands” by both federal and county agencies.
The entire Nedonna Beach neighborhood, which consists of approximately 360 homes, is also designated by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) as a “drinking water source area for groundwater wells.” These wells serve as a backup water supply for the city when Jetty Creek, the primary drinking water source, becomes too muddy or experiences low stream flow.
There are several compelling reasons why this new housing development is problematic, including increased risks of flooding, single egress for the entire neighborhood, wildfires and saltwater intrusion into the drinking water supply. Moreover, while the new development will be connected to the city sewer system, about 75 percent of the existing homes in Nedonna Beach are outside the city limits and rely on septic systems, many of which are in poor condition.
The Oregon Shores Conservation Council, represented by the Crag Law Center, filed an appeal against the City’s approval of the subdivision, but the City denied the appeal. The case is now being reviewed by the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA).
Join us for a conversation on how we can work together to protect this special place! We’d love to hear your thoughts on what actions should be taken and how you might be able to contribute.
2.NEHALEM WATERSHED-NEHALEM MUST STOP LOGGING IN ITS DRINKING WATERSHED
The Nehalem watershed was clear-cut by a logging company and then transferred to the city, possibly in the 1940s. In the 1980s, seeking new sources of income, the city began the practice of logging the watershed in stages, with the aim of generating revenue over time. Now, nearly 40 years later, only the steepest slopes remain untouched, with the majority of the area having been logged. This year marks the end of the city’s 25-year contract with a timber management firm. A speaker will address the ongoing issues, present the goals of a local conservation group, and explore alternative options the city could pursue. Additionally, the speaker will discuss how the community can get involved in protecting the watershed’s future.

NCCWP wants no more logging and pesticide use in community water sources across all land ownership, and wants an end to pesticide applications near where people live, work and recreate. Safe drinking water and clean air are part of the public trust that we all are entitled to have. Please help North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection safeguard and restore our drinking watersheds. www.healthywatershed.org | www.facebook.com/NCCWATERSHEDPROTECTION Contact: rockawaycitizen.water@gmail.com

How’s your siding?

Submitted By: Toniann.naylor@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
We are now scheduling for siding sealing and treatment.
Cedar naturally contains oils that help to repel moisture and insects, which makes it a great choice for siding. However, over time these oils can break down, leaving the wood vulnerable to damage. Sealing your cedar siding helps to protect it from moisture, UV rays, and pests, which can help extend its lifespan.
