Take Your Seat at the Table. Run For Office!

Submitted By: moovoter@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hey MooVoters!

Election Time is Coming Up.

Every two years, on odd numbered years, there are elections for Special Districts throughout the United States. There are over 50,000 Special Districts across the country. Special Districts are controlled by boards of five to seven people. They make the decisions that truly affect your day to day life. They make the decisions for schools, fire departments, water, sanitary, transportation, recreation, and more.

Throughout Tillamook County there are 123 Board Positions up for election this May. These boards control over $200 million throughout the county. Would you like to be part of making the decisions that affect Tillamook County? Now’s your chance.

To run for a seat you must be registered to vote and live in the district for the seat you’re pursuing. Some districts are further separated by zones. If a seat lists a zone, you must live within the zone of the district to run for that seat. However, all of the voters in that district will be voting for all of the available seats. If a seat is listed as “position” than you are eligible to file for any of those positions. If you’re confused about what seat you might be eligible for, the friendly folks at the county clerk’s office will help you figure it out.

Although all of these positions are non-partisan, you’re encouraged to seek assistance in your campaign from your party or other organizations. But remember an endorsement from a party doesn’t mean the candidate represents the party, it means the party likes what the candidate represents.
Tillamook County Democrats – electionschair@tillcodems.org
Independent Party of Oregon – indparty.com/contact
Tillamook County Republicans – tillamookcountygop.com/contact
Working Families Party of Oregon – act.workingfamilies.org/forms/apply-for-the-wfp-endorsement

Filing is easy and just $10. You can fill out PDF Form SEL 190 online at sos.oregon.gov/elections/Documents/SEL190.pdf. Then you print it out and file it with the County Clerk at the Tillamook County Courthouse, 201 Laurel Ave., Tillamook, OR 97141. You may also pick up blank forms at the clerk’s office. You can mail the filing plus fee, or go into the office. The deadline to file is March 20, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Good luck!! And, thank you.

Why the rise of the AfD?

Most Germans know the Biden Admin blew up the Nordstream pipeline, which plummeted their country into economic turmoil. But the pro-Biden Merkel gov’t refused to acknowledge we (Biden/CIA/Norwegian special forces) blew up the pipeline, and instead continues to blame Russia while seeking war with Russia. The AfD does NOT want war with Russia.

And this is the CURRENT fascist government in Germany:

Economic Blackout February 28

Submitted By: k.r.yurka@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
As a citizen, I have a sacred duty to stand up in defense of my country. One way to stand up is to vote in every election, from school board, to soil & water district to president. Until the next election, we also have first amendment rights to speak, peaceably assemble and petition for redress of grievances. I’m grateful to my fellow citizens who stood up and questioned Sen. Merkeley and Rep. Bonamici last weekend.

One other way we can stand up for our country is to choose to whom, why and when we ‘vote’ with our dollars. This is a right we exercise daily. I will be withholding my dollars on Friday, February 28, along with millions of other Americans who are concerned that their civil votes and public comments aren’t being heard. The only message the corporations hear is $$$.

I encourage you to join me in not spending a penny (except for emergencies, and only with locally owned businesses) for only one day.

To our beloved local business owners:
I do and will continue to support you, but not on Friday. I encourage you also to withhold your dollars for one day. No orders, no payments to vendors for one day. It’s one way we can stand together against the oligarchy that we all can see has invaded our national government. Stand up for your government OF the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE, FOR the PEOPLE.

Regardless of what the Supreme Court and Mitt Romney say, corporations are not people.

AUDITIONS FOR THE COMEDY ‘SORDID LIVES’ MARCH 3RD AND MARCH 4TH

Submitted By: admin@riverbendplayers.org – Click to email about this post

SORDID LIVES OPEN AUDITIONS MARCH 3rd and MARCH 4th

CAST OF CHARACTERS: 7 W / 6 M

Open auditions for all 13 parts will be held at the NCRD Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 3rd, and Tuesday, March 4th,.

Audition details are available at www.riverbendplayers.org

Special Audition Notice: Riverbend Players seeks a triple-threat actress for the role of Bitsy Mae Harling in SORDID LIVES (played in the movie by Olivia Newton-John).
Bitsy Mae is a sassy, charming, down-on-her-luck country singer with a heart of gold.
Think Dolly Parton meets a touch of Reba. Must sing country/blues, play guitar proficiently, and possess some acting skills.
Email the director, Frank Squillo, at fsquillo@riverbendplayers.org

SORDID LIVES is a dark comedy set in a small Texas town, revolving around the eccentric Turpin family and their friends as they grapple with the sudden and embarrassing death of the family matriarch.

Peggy’s demise occurs during an illicit tryst in a seedy motel room with her younger, married neighbor, resulting in a hilariously scandalous cover-up.

As the family prepares for Peggy’s funeral, long-buried secrets and family tensions erupt, leading to a series of outrageous events.

The play satirizes small-town life, family dysfunction, and societal prejudices with a sharp wit and a deep affection for its flawed but lovable characters.

SORDID LIVES celebrates individuality and acceptance, even in the face of the most “sordid” circumstances.

It’s a raucous and heartwarming story about finding your place in a world that often tries to define you.

RATED MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY: ‘Sordid Lives’ is intended for mature audiences. The play contains comedic depictions of sensitive topics, including infidelity, mental health, LGBTQ+ issues, strong language, sexual content and innuendos, and situations not suitable for children or some younger audiences. Audience discretion is advised.
