Let’s give a shoutout to the 40 people who came to Nehalem to Protest this past Saturday with the North County Resistance. A great group of people talking about all sorts of things, politics, family, pets, the summer, and so on. And our coffee man and lady were there to keep us fueled with their delicious coffee.
The topic of the news today seems to center around our upcoming general elections on November 3rd. The Constitution is clear that states run elections, not the Federal Government. With the 2026 election just about 2 months away Trump is trying to interfere with this upcoming vote-although he wouldn’t admit to this. Neither will he admit that widespread voter fraud has not been proven. And now, as I’m sure you all know, we have an unnamed whistleblower report saying “if even a single ballot envelope scan in a large batch of ballots doesn’t comport with the information in the system, the US Postal Service won’t deliver the entire batch of ballots until the discrepancy has been resolved”. Talk about confusion! Trump plans on having this confusion spread to every branch of the government he can so it will take years to resolve.
“Leave no one behind” is the central pledge of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to eradicate poverty and reduce inequalities. Trump has officially rejected this for the United Nations Agenda in 2030-not too far out. I invite you to look this up.
I’m going to get back on the Food Donation thread again here. The North County Food Bank is located in Wheeler. They accept food donations during open hours, plus you’ll start to see bins and barrels around the area. Food donations are generally split with Nehalem Bay Community Services. Currently this food bank is seeing unprecedented demands. If you would like to make a donation to help, please send a check to PO Box 162, Wheeler, Oregon 97147 or donate online: www.northtillamookcountyfoodbank.org/donate. The North County Food Bank regrets that they will not be able to offer Thanksgiving dinners this year as their space is much smaller than the old one and they do not have enough storage to manage this large endeavor.
