I’ve been asked to post the following information about a vigil at St. Catherine’s Church this Saturday for the two men, Lorenzo and Johan, killed recently by ICE. This information is followed with details about the protest in Nehalem on Saturday.
Join Katie Moss and Indivisible Tillamook County for a silent candlelight vigil in Bayside Gardens this Sunday at 9pm-10pm in the St. Catherine’s church parking lot facing Hwy 101, to remember and grieve the violent killing of two innocent men by ICE this month. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed last week by an ICE agent in Houston while driving a work van with his crew. This week ICE fatally shot 26-year-old Johan Sebastian Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine — his wife and toddler forced to witness the violent act. Both men were beloved members of their communities, killed on their way to work and both were carelessly mistaken for the wrong person, ICE admits. Join us for a vigil to grieve these tragedies, to demand justice for Lorenzo and for Johan and an end to the terrible fear of ICE in our own community.
North County Resistance will be holding its weekly protest in Nehalem this Saturday, July 18, from noon to 2 PM. All are invited to protest the way our country is being torn apart by our current government. Our direction needs to change. We can’t keep killing people in our country and countries around the world. See you in Nehalem.
Thanks,
Patty
