There is indeed NEW Code written and submitted for adoption. It was written by a Citizen Advisory Committee and aimed at shepherding in new developments. We support development that is right sized for Wheeler.
But those who think large scale projects are the only solution tanked the Citizens Advisory Committee ordinance and are putting a developer’s desire to make money over the citizens input on retaining Wheelers Character.
Tourism is our industry so let’s get it right to retain the qualities that make Wheeler special and attracted us in the first place.
