Q: What do these things have in common?
A: Planning & Preparing, of course!
Having had all these experiences in my life, I suppose I can say that planning & preparing are rooted in my nature. I’m coming up on 19 yrs. of living here. In December 2007, my first winter, the hurricane hit. No power for days. Thankfully water was still available.
We experience many weather events here on the coast and there’s the potential for a major earthquake / tsunami. I volunteer with EVCNB & CERT because planning-preparedness are an important aspect of my life. I teach the WaSH (water-sanitation-hygiene) class to help my community to think about what they will do to care for themselves, to plan strategies, to begin processes for preparedness.
I invite you to attend a WaSH class. It’s 2 1/2hrs on a Saturday 10am to 12:30pm. There’s a $20 registration fee per household – (registration & laminated info pages).
Refer to the attached poster for class dates.
Don’t hesitate to contact me at <wash@evcnb.org> with question.
