I took the opportunity to watch the Rick Steves special on OPB Tuesday night titled The Rise of Facism in Europe… No, it was not his usual travel fare, but a very well documented presentation of how Hitler came to power in Germany in the 1930s.
The whole process of that fateful turning of events and the manipulation of the masses is mirrored in the White House occupants presently in power, with the blessing of the boot-kissing majority in the Senate and House of so-called Representatives.
Control the free speech through intimidation and fear of reprisals- beat down the universities and higher education institutions- suppress the libraries and literary functions- use the military to cause fear in the people who do not go along with their irrational views of how they want the laws to apply not to them- throwing so many lies and false info at us we cannot keep up with all the other unlawful things they are doing outside of our view.
We have our individual right to vote for who we choose to- but even that is being eroded away day by day. That was one of Hitlers best tactics- only give people who agreed with him the right to vote. Minorities were effectively excluded from the electoral process.
After viewing that program it is obvious what path this country is currently taking.
