Rev. Christy Kay here….most of you probably know me in a multitude of ways – from my extensive community service work, from Rising Hearts Studio, from my services as an Energy Healing Practitioner and Spiritual Life Coach, or in the many other various ways that I am engaged in supporting my community. But, I have also added another facet to my work fairly recently, and am delighted to begin offering new services in a new role.
I am happy to announce my ordination as a multi-faith and multi-species animal chaplain who works to promote the health and wellness of ALL living beings on their spiritual path, providing healing comfort and care.
What is Animal Chaplaincy? Animal chaplains are an emerging field of chaplaincy that tends to the needs of all living beings and species. An animal chaplain provides spiritual and emotional care and support for both animals and their human companions, often focusing on bereavement rituals and promoting animal welfare. They also connect services to those that need them.
What I offer:
Spiritual Care: spiritual guidance and support to people experiencing grief or loss related to their pets or other animals.
Rituals and Ceremonies: leading ceremonies, rituals, or habituals, to honor the lives and deaths of animals, and offer support to the bereaved – this includes Blessings and Healings.
Resource Help: connection to any resources needed for the benefit of both animals and their companions.
Compassionate Listening: I offer a safe space for people to share their feelings and experiences related to their relationship with animals.
Healing: Energetic healing sessions for companion animals, farm animals, wild animals, and humans alike to help with emotional, spiritual and physical issues.
Monthly Animal Loss Grief Support Group: Safe space to find solace in shared experience, with support, understanding and practices for healing grief, and accepting loss. Currently meeting every second Thursday of the month, 5:30 PM, at Rising Hearts Studio.

Testimonials:
Christy helped me to navigate the end of life and transition of my beloved dog, Ruby. I was fully immersed in my grief, and she held a compassionate space for my tears. She also assisted me with logistics, by navigating the complexity of end of life care, and acting an intermediary between me and my veterinarian, to make sure the choices I made were in the highest good of both myself and my beloved. She offered palliative care to Ruby, in the form of energy work through reiki, and sound, and with ayurvedic medicine to ease the transition when the time finally came for her to cross the rainbow bridge. Christy created and facilitated a beautiful memorial ceremony that fully captured and honored Ruby and her place in my life. We also met some weeks later, and Christy was able to relieve some of my pain through her clearing work, and by channeling messages from Ruby that only she could have given. Truly an amazing opportunity, working with Christy, and I would not have made it through this experience without the loving care she offered. I highly recommend her animal chaplaincy services. – Jan Mohr
Christy has helped me tremendously on my healing journey. The reiki/sound healing is phenomenal. She also worked with my dog who was struggling with anxiety and after one session I saw vast improvements in my dog’s well-being. Highly recommend any healing work with Christy, she is awesome!!! – Valerie Mannix
I highly recommend Christy‘s healing treatments for animals. It was a huge help to my grieving dog who was exhibiting unpredictable behaviour. – Carolyn Greenwood
