Join us on July 26 in Wheeler from noon to 2 PM as we stand together against proposed cuts to essential community programs. Your presence will show our leaders that our community stands united in support of those who need these programs most. This PROTEST revolves around the theme of “Families First”, Protect our Healthcare. Please help us protest the proposed cuts to essential programs that many in our community rely on every day.

We will be located near Rorvik Street on the bay side of Highway 101. There appears to be plenty of parking in Wheeler, but we kindly ask that you respect parking reserved for local businesses. Please note that Wheeler is currently rebuilding its restrooms, so public facilities will not be available.

The weather is expected to bring clouds and sunshine, so for your comfort, we recommend wearing layered clothing and bringing water or juice to stay hydrated. Bring a chair if you like and don’t forget sun protection such as hats or sunscreen. Feel free to bring signs expressing your support. And we also have extra signs if you forget yours. If you need assistance with accessibility or have questions about the event, please contact Patty between 9 AM and 5 PM at 503-368-6081 (message phone).

We are still collecting food for the North County Food Bank located here in Wheeler. If you would rather send a check, the address is NCFB, PO Box 162, Wheeler, Oregon, 97147. We continue to sell American Flags, giving the money to the North County Food Bank.

Thank you to so many of you who have been coming every week. Your support is noted.

In solidarity,

Patty
