PROTEST IN NEHALEM, JULY 17, 4-6 PM

Please join us on July 17th, for our John Lewis Day PROTEST. John Lewis was there on Bloody Sunday and was beaten by our government. He was arrested over 45 times for getting into what he called “GOOD TROUBLE” during the Civil Rights Era. There will be over 1,000 events across the USA this coming Thursday and we hope you will join us.

Yes, we will once again be at the base of Nehalem hill in the public parking area. We expect this to be a peaceful protest and ask all attending to be peaceful-walk away if harassed. Find someone in an orange vest and tell them about the incident. Do not take the matter into your own hands. All our other PROTESTS have been proven to be safe, and we want to continue this way.

Once again, we will be collecting food and money for our local food bank. We will have flags for sale and all that money will go to North County Food Bank in Wheeler. If you wish to send a check : NCFB, PO Box 162, Wheeler, Oregon, 97147. To help feed our children while they are on summer break please send your check to Nehalem Bay Community Services, PO Box 156, Nehalem, Oregon, 97147.

Thank you all for showing up this past Saturday in Nehalem. It was a hot, hot day, but people stayed as long as they could. Bring water, signs, your friends, chairs, and whatever you need to be comfortable. Layered clothing is a good idea.

As John Lewis said many years ago, “We still have work to do.”

Best,
Patty
