Tuesday is an important day in North Tillamook County as it is the day the North Tillamook County Food Bank is open. People of all ages depend on this Food Bank. With gas creeping up to $5 a gallon and no raises in pay in sight many people are making choices of buying gas to go to work or buying food. This is where the North Tillamook County Food Bank can help but they can’t do it alone. Your help is needed to keep the food bank open. Please send your checks or cash to North County Food Bank, PO Box 162, Wheeler, Oregon 97147. Partnering with the North County Food Bank is Nehalem Bay Community Services which has a food pantry and clothing bank. They are located at the Methodist Church in Nehalem. This organization is open on Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM and on Wednesday from 1-5 PM. You can drop checks, cash, food, or clothing to them during these times or mail a check or cash to Nehalem Bay Community Services, PO Box 232, Nehalem, Oregon, 97131. We cannot stop the war, but we can help our neighbors. I believe North County Resistance finds helping our neighbors during these stressful times is part of their mission. And those who don’t consider themselves to be part of the North County Resistance feel good about helping their neighbors too. This is part of our common ground.
