It was a beautiful day in Nehalem for the North County Resistance Protest. We had 45 plus people and 8 dogs. All were well behaved. Lots of different protest signs as it seems what we are protesting happens day by day. The war with Iran is on everyone’s mind. We never should have gone there, but now that we are there, how do we get out?
Also, on everyone’s minds is the big NO KINGS3 Protest coming up next weekend. Please get as many people as you can to get out for this event. Here locally we will be in Manzanita at the top of Laneda and Manzanita Avenues along Highway 101. The event will be from noon to 2 PM. At 2 PM many will go down Laneda Avenue to the beach and back with their signs. North County Resistance will have a group of Crossing Guards to get you across the street at the corner of Highway 101 and Laneda and also at Manzanita Avenue and Highway 101. Please follow the directions of the Crossing Guards. You will also see Safety Marshals in the crowds. They will be wearing a yellow or orange safety vest. If you have questions, please feel free to ask a Safety Marshal. If a Safety Marshal asks you to do something, please listen to them.
*Please do not cross Highway 101 except for the crosswalk near Manzanita Lumber Company. This is very dangerous and no one is responsible for you getting smushed except for yourself.
*Please do not bring dogs, even if on a leash, as they are a distraction for yourself and others. We do not want people tripping on dog leashes or dogs. Llamas might be okay, but the committee is still deciding on this. Probably best to leave them at home too.
Your questions and suggestions are greatly appreciated. We can’t do everything, but we can try. We welcome you to bring your family, your friends, and neighbors to this event. Goal is to break the record number we had at the last NO KINGS2-which was 750 people.
Thanks for your time,
Patty
