Hannah Arendt’s work on authoritarianism, written post World War Two, has influenced generations of philosophers, scholars, political theorists and ordinary readers ever since. That said, her work can be a bit dense and long. West does an admirable job putting her work in context and communicating why it’s crucial to understanding and acting in the current rise of fascism and authoritarianism in the United State and elsewhere.
Certainly worth a half-hour of your time.
