Hello to our PROTESTERS who came out this past Saturday in Nehalem. North County Resistance is a local group dedicated to advocating for civil rights and supporting our broader community. The North County Resistance (NCR) appreciates all of you. And were those cookies so over the top or not? About 35 people showed up, at one of our larger gatherings in Nehalem. We are not breaking any laws when we protest. We understand not everyone agrees with us. We are not out there protesting just for ourselves, but for people who are not able to get out, people who fear their lives and their families’ lives are crumbling around them due to our Federal Government. PROTESTING is what people do when we face the rigging of election maps, the rollback of Civil Rights, and the lack of respect for human dignity, to name a few. Over 90% of people driving by on Saturday agreed with us.

This next protest will be on Saturday, August 23, and North County Resistance will be back in Nehalem from noon to 2 PM. Please join us and engage in this Active PROTEST. Bring what you need to stay comfortable for the two hours—water, a chair, some layers of clothing. Don’t give up on DEMOCRACY!

REMEMBER—The gathering at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, starting at 5 PM. The topic will be Civil Disobedience—Rights and Responsibilities.

In addition to our activism efforts, supporting our local community is also important. Many people have asked me about the North County Food Bank. Please go to their website www.northtillamookcountyfoodbank.org/ to see what is happening there. We need to support this valuable institution in our community.

Thanks, Patty
